Made it, again, to Base Camp 2! Did my cool down stretches, and now it is time to light my essential oils lamp and relax with lavender and sandalwood scents.

I'm on the Peaks Challenge Re-Do! I've lost 10 pounds since I started the Peaks Challenge last year, and now my heels get right up to my glutes on the ham curls! Step Aerobics is good for my soul...

Hey Jenny! I'm starting the 7 Peaks Challenge again...just got to Base Camp 1 of Mt. Kosciuszko!
Hey Jenny! I'm still working on re-building my strength and stamina after a lower-back nerve pinch that knocked me flat for a couple of weeks. I did the 17-minute workout, repeatedly, until I could do the whole routine without having to stop. Now, I'll work on this one, and continue until I can do it [fairly] effortlessly. Then, I'll get back to the 30-minute routines. There are some step moves that I cannot do, such as the "leg back" because that arches my back and aggregates the partially trapped nerve at L5-S1. I have to do a step up, with big arms (in wide, overhead circles). Additionally, I cannot "jump" or "hop" on any move, too much of a jolt to my lower back. So I do "big arms" for those as well. I can't be the only senior-stepper who has lower back issues. Sure would be nice to get a few routines tailored for us, that feature bigger, more aggressive arm movements for increased cardio, while still guarding the lower back. That would be GREAT!!!
Hey Jenny! I'm back from a 3-week-long episode of lower back nerve impingement, and this one has been just right as a "getting back to daily step aerobics" routine. It has taken me four days to be able to get through it in one go, so I'm getting my "step legs" back! I'll continue to re-visit the basic routines until I'm confident that my lower back is healed...and I get my stamina back! That's the beauty about being a subscriber! I can do these routines over and again, and go back to older, easier routines when I need to! I re-energized my entire focus of my health, especially my heart health, after being a round-the-clock caregiver for my husband (who passed away in December 2019). It took me awhile to get my bearings, and part of my overall recovery was re-discovering step aerobics (after having enjoying it "back in the day" in the 1980s and 1990s---all that spandex and knitted leg warmers!). Now, at 70, I'm feeling younger and more vital than most of my peers. Step aerobics ROCK!!!
